Sweet Tooth Bakery has been owned and operated by Cheri Christian since 1993. Only 2 years after opening, we won the WRSC award for an improved appearance since the former location was a 1 room upholstery shop which we converted to 2 sides- one to purchase and order baked goods and the other side for seating. Cheri’s dream of decorating cakes originated in her hometown on Brownsville, Pa.(western Pa) as she sat and watched a friend, Marie, decorate wedding cakes. After making a few roses of her own, she was hooked. Both grandmothers were originally from Hungary, so it was natural to learn to make Hungarian pastries for the holidays.
She has attended classes in Chicago at the Wilton School of Cake Decorating including a Master’s class, cakes for catering, Australian methods (fondant) and a Chocolate class. She continues to take continuing education classes in fondant and cake sculpturing methods.
Cheri and her son Devin have taken 3 years of week-long balloon decorating classes in Las Vegas which expanded services the bakery provides. Devin now runs the division known as Nittany Balloons offering balloon décor, sculptures,and balloon twisting for events.
Sweet Tooth makes most of the sweets “by order” to ensure their freshness for you our valued customers. Some orders can be processed in 1 day, but we recommend a notice of at least 2 days. When you walk into the store on any given day, the staple items that are available are chocolate covered Oreos and pretzels, brownies and giant cookies. The other pastries and cookies vary from week to week.
